ANSYS add-ons for v12.1 part 2

ANSYS add-ons for v12.1 part 2

Part 1 is here.

ANSYS Additional Tools
ANSYS ICEM CFD meshing software starts with advanced CAD/geometry readers and repair tools that allow the user to quickly move to a variety of geometry-tolerant meshers and produce high-quality volume or surface meshes with minimal effort. Advanced mesh diagnostics, interactive and automated mesh editing, output to a wide variety of CFD and FEA solvers, and multi-physics post-processing tools make the ANSYS ICEM CFD tool a complete meshing solution. ANSYS ICEM CFD is the Swiss army knife of meshing; our product vision is to provide a variety of flexible tools that can take the model from any geometry to any solver, in one modern and fully scriptable environment.
For more than a decade, leading companies around the world have relied on ANSYS Icepak to provide robust and powerful computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software for electronics thermal management. Based on the state-of-the-art ANSYS FLUENT CFD solver, ANSYS Icepak software has a streamlined user interface that speaks the language of electronics design engineers, enabling the rapid creation of models of complex electronic assemblies. The software automatically generates highly accurate, conformal meshes that represent the true shape of electronic components, and simulations include fluid flow and all modes of heat transfer - conduction, convection and radiation - for both steady-state and transient thermal-flow simulations.

ANSYS CFD CFX TurboGrid
ANSYS CFD provides access to both the well-known ANSYS FLUENT and ANSYS CFX products. Also available separately, these are the main general-purpose fluids simulation products offered by ANSYS. These two core fluids simulation solvers represent more than 1,000 person-years of research and development. This effort translates into the key benefits of fluids simulation software from ANSYS: experience, trust, depth and breadth. The CFD core solvers from ANSYS are trusted, used and relied upon by companies worldwide.
ANSYS CFX is a high-performance, general purpose CFD program that has been applied to solve wide-ranging fluid flow problems for over 20 years. At the heart of ANSYS CFX is its advanced solver technology, the key to achieving reliable and accurate solutions quickly and robustly. The modern, highly parallelized solver is the foundation for an abundant choice of physical models to capture virtually any type of phenomena related to fluid flow: laminar to turbulent (including transition), incompressible to fully compressible, subsonic to trans- and supersonic, isothermal or with heat transfer by convection and/or radiation, non-reacting to combusting, stationary and/or rotating devices, single fluids and mixtures of fluids in one or more phases (incl. free surfaces), and much, much more.
CFD simulations don’t end with the fluid flow prediction. To benefit from the prediction requires post-processing that gives users complete insight into their fluid dynamics simulation results. ANSYS CFD-Post, the common post-processor for all ANSYS fluid dynamics products, gives users everything they need to visualize and analyze their results.
ANSYS TurboGrid provides turbomachinery designers and analysts with mesh creation tailored specifically to the needs of bladed geometries. It creates high-quality hexahedral meshes that are tuned to the demands of fluid dynamics analysis in rotating machinery.

ANSYS Electrical/Mechanical
ANSYS Mechanical offers a comprehensive product solution for structural linear/nonlinear and dynamics analysis. The product offers a complete set of elements behavior, material models and equation solvers for a wide range of engineering problems. In addition, ANSYS Mechanical offers thermal analysis and coupled-physics capabilities involving acoustic, piezoelectric, thermal-structural and thermal-electric analysis. If you are simulating short, high deformation, large strain, fracture or complete material failure applications, choose from ANSYS explicit dynamics products to meet your needs. There are few applications too severe to be simulated with a high quality software tool from ANSYS, and one of the three products below is ready to take over where implicit dynamics leaves off.
ANSYS AUTODYN is a uniquely versatile explicit analysis tool for modeling the nonlinear dynamics of solids, fluids, gas and their interaction.
ANSYS LS-DYNA software can be used with the traditional ANSYS graphical user interface (GUI) and ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) or with the ANSYS Workbench export capability. The technology is the most popular time-tested explicit solver for relatively slow-speed impact-related analysis.

ANSYS Fluent Polyflow
ANSYS FLUENT software contains the broad physical modeling capabilities needed to model flow, turbulence, heat transfer, and reactions for industrial applications ranging from air flow over an aircraft wing to combustion in a furnace, from bubble columns to oil platforms, from blood flow to semiconductor manufacturing, and from clean room design to wastewater treatment plants. Special models that give the software the ability to model in-cylinder combustion, aeroacoustics, turbomachinery, and multiphase systems have served to broaden its reach.
ANSYS POLYFLOW is an advanced general purposed finite-element-based CFD software product for the analysis of polymer processing and glass forming. ANSYS POLYFLOW is particularly well-known for its extensive library of viscoelastic fluid models.
